About the press
Everything deserves a book.
QR8D is a small independent press, started by two librarians, a picture editor and one printer who kept insisting it could not be done at that size. QR8D makes books about the things people actually care about.
The internet gave everyone their own little world — screenshots, memes, football, chairs, luggage, monitors, curtains, cities, companies, objects, people, ideas. Things we spend years looking at, talking about and becoming strangely attached to, but rarely get to keep in any meaningful physical form. QR8D takes those worlds and turns them into books: researched, designed and made to live on your table for years.
We’re starting with the internet. We won’t stop there. The goal is to build a library of beautifully made books about almost anything worth being curious about — from the culturally important to the oddly specific.
How a volume gets made

Research
Two editors, six months, primary sources only. Every item is dated, credited and traced back to where it first appeared.

Edit
Anything that needs a caption to be interesting gets cut. That is roughly four fifths of what we gather.
- 03
Set
Typeset in Archivo and Newsreader, one spread at a time, corrected on paper proofs rather than screens.
- 04
Print
Offset in Verona on uncoated stock, Smyth-sewn to lie flat, then boxed flat and shipped tracked.
